Savannah Banana

Savannah absolutely LOVES school. Everything about it. She was so excited about this "landform" project that we heard about it every day for a week before they did it. She was so proud to bring it home.

Savannah also still loves to dress up. I love watching her come out of her room, because I never know what crazy things she's going to put together. It's even better when her best friend comes over to play. They change at least 3 times while she's here.

On Saturday Savannah even tried being a piano teacher.

16 months old

Landon was 16 months old yesterday. He's pretty much exactly the same as last month, except a little smarter, and a little faster.
He loves to set everything up on its side now, especially legos and books.
He will spend a long time sitting at the little table in the playroom making stacks of toys.
He loves cars now, and will say "car."
He loves corn. He will tolerate cooked carrots if they have a little ketchup on them.
He's been getting so many comments lately on his orange fluff hair that I'm not going to cut the top this month. We'll see how tall it sticks up by Christmas.
He and Connor fight like crazy, mostly because Landon likes to bug Connor so much. He has gotten his dad's teasing gene.
Landon has been SUPER cranky the last couple of weeks while his "extra" tooth broke through. It is now pushing his top teeth apart and looks a little painful. Luckily he's sleeping a little better at night now, overall.
We love you Landon!

Pinewood Derby 2011

The Pinewood Derby was on Saturday. Dallin helped the boys carve their cars a few weeks before and then they finished them up last week. Zach wanted his in the shape of a fish and Jacob wanted a Hexbug.

It's the fun that the boys are close enough in age that they got to participate in one Pinewood Derby together.

Getting ready

Zach and Jacob's cars raced each other in their first heat. They got 2nd and 3rd.

See the UT car...it got 1st place every single time it raced. And 1st place overall. There must be something to those cool little weight balls on the top and front of it.

Savannah was just giving Landon a hug, but I think he was hoping she'd help him escape.

He didn't love being in his stroller for 2 hours, but otherwise that track wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes without Landon on top of it.

Admiration

Connor looks up to Savannah so much and loves it when she'll spend time with him. You can see it in that face...

Extra Tooth

So teething is really fun sometimes. But let me tell ya, it's especially fun when your 15-month old has 16 teeth and then decides to sprout an EXTRA tooth. One that is not there in a normal mouth. I noticed the large gap between his top middle tooth and the one next to it. He had his first dentist appointment in September and I mentioned it to the dentist. He said there was a possibility that he'd have an extra tooth, and we'd just have to wait and see since he was too little for the x-rays. Yes, he has an extra tooth...and it's growing in sideways. Poor kid.

Around the house...

Whenever I take pictures of the kids Connor always wants to be in it or have me take one of him. Who can resist that smile?Best friends. I love to walk in a room to see stuff like this.Zach is doing an after school program called the Junior Master Gardeners. He has homework for it each week and last week he had to make a terrarium.

Landon is the luckiest little guy to have 4 siblings who love him so much.

This is Connor's preschool class. Last week it was at our house and we studied all the different continents and some of the traditions from various countries. We tried to eat our snack with chopsticks...it was quite entertaining to watch.Landon loves to put everything on his head these days (except for the hat part of his Halloween costume, of course). He came in wearing the Batman mask as a hat the other day.

I put it on him and he actually wore it for a good 10 minutes or so.

Whenever Jacob is sitting on the floor Landon will go and plop himself right on his lap. He can almost always get a story or two out of him.

3rd Grade Musical

Zach's 3rd Grade Musical was last week. The musical was mostly songs from "Annie" and "Oliver," so they were supposed to dress up like orphans from that time period. I wasn't going to get a costume for him because normally he hates dressing up for stuff like this. That afternoon he came home and was adamant that he was supposed to dress up. After a few phone calls I found this stuff for him to wear. I'm not sure what he had in mind for an orphan look, but he was not so happy with the end result. By the time he got dressed though it was time to go, so there was no choice but to wear it. I thought he looked cute. He thought otherwise.This is the only picture I got of him looking up.

He was not so happy for this musical, but I know that he knew the songs at least. I hear him humming them sometimes.

Halloween 2011

I tried to simplify Halloween a little bit this year. Connor went to his Halloween preschool party and a Halloween birthday party. I didn't take the kids to pick out pumpkins and we didn't paint or carve any. And they didn't even notice or ever say anything about it. I also forgot my camera at every place we went to. Luckily I have friends who took some pictures for me.

We went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat on Friday night. The kids had a blast running all around with their friends, playing games, and getting candy (of course).Savannah was a cowgirl this year.Zach was a clone trooper and never wanted to wear the mask. He hates masks.

Connor was the cutest Buzz Light Year you ever saw. I wanted to call him Professor Light Year.

Jacob was a skeleton warrior. Dallin painted his face, but right after this picture we cleaned it off because he was complaining how much it hurt when it dried. I didn't want him whining about it all night.

On Halloween night we went to our friends' house for dinner and trick-or-treating. Jacob went trick-or-treating with another friend, so he's not in these pictures. Savannah and her best friend, Countess Dracula.

They literally ran from house to house and were worn out after going around the block once.

When we got back home Zach and Savannah didn't even want to trick-or-treat to our neighbors. They stayed back to pass out candy while I took Connor around to a few close houses. When we got back this is what I saw in the window. Poor kid.

I took about 50 pictures of Landon in his Halloween costume, trying to get one that wasn't blurry.I finally got two pictures, out of 50, that were not a big blur. That is Landon these days...running everywhere and no stopping whatsoever.
