Sick Connor

Poor Connor has been sick this week. Last Friday I took him to the doctor for his "well-child" check-up. Turns out he had a bad sinus infection and a little strep infection in his diaper region. He started on his antibiotic Friday night. Saturday his eczema flared up really bad. Sunday he started having a slight fever off and on. Monday the diarrhea started. By Tuesday he was hardly eating a thing. Yesterday (Thursday) he was just miserable all afternoon. I called the doctor and we went back in this morning. Turns out he got a viral infection (probably caught from Zach). But the antibiotic for his sinus infection was making things worse. So we got him a new prescription that's easier on the stomach. And he actually ate food today! Like 20 bites! That's the most he's eaten since Tuesday. Hopefully he'll get better soon...then we get to start him on allergy medicine. Because Texas is allergy heaven. And his poor little nose runs when he even thinks of going outside. Such is the life of 2-year-old Connor.

Trip to the dentist...

Zach has been home sick since Saturday afternoon with a fever and sore throat. He missed giving the scripture at church and also the last 3 days of school. Yesterday he was so bored he cleaned up every toy in every room in the house (including Savannah's room). He was finally doing better today, but we had dentist appointments first thing in the morning. So he had to be late to school. It's so nice to be able to do their appointments all at the same time...it's a pediatric dentist. Here are Zach, Savannah, and Connor. Savannah always does so good and lays so still.
Zach hates it, and holds the chair in a death grip (although his teeth are always the best).
Connor started screaming too loud before I got a picture of Jacob and I had to take him out. He sees anyone in scrubs and freaks out. His appointment was after the other kids, since they only had 3 hygienists working. He was not a happy camper. I had to hold him down for his 1-minute cleaning and teeth-counting, so no pictures.

Marathon Kids Medal Day!

Today was the Marathon Kids Finale Day! We went to Austin for the boys to do their "final lap" and receive their medal. They were very excited! Zach is wearing the red jacket & Jacob the gray one...
It was a big crowd of people...we were stuck in traffic for quite a while just to get there.
Connor was loving the whole thing. He danced to the music and loved watching the runners. He was very excited about the "bayoons" that were right in front of us.
I didn't plan for them to be twinsy...they just both have the same jogging pants.
At 3:00 this afternoon I found Zach laying on the couch with a fever and some bloodshot eyes. Might be pinkeye or whatever Jacob had a week ago. Poor kid...he said "Is it almost bedtime Mommy?" He was immediately banned to his room because we're having a couple of families over for dinner tonight as part of a ward activity.

Cousin Max is born!

Max LeSueur was born today! He is the first baby of my older brother Steven and his wife Sarah. Max was born at 12:20 pm, weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz., and was 21 inches long. Steven says he has a whole head of brown hair. Sarah was in labor all last night so she is a tired new Mommy. We're so happy for you both!

Valentine's Week

Jacob has been home sick since Wednesday. Tuesday he complained of a headache all day and then woke up in the night with a fever. He's pretty much had the fever off on and on since then. Luckily no flu. Right now it's 102. Poor kid. He had to miss his Valentine's party on Friday. I took in his stuff in the morning though and his teacher let us come for a minute at the end to get his filled Valentine bag and a plate of goodies (when we came to pick up Zach).

We made use of his time at home on Thursday by finishing his Life Timeline project. He did a great job! Friday he made up some school work and even took a couple of tests at home. Savannah loved having Jacob home to play with (when he was feeling up to it) and he was so nice to her all week...
He even let Connor catch his remote control car a few times to say "Vroom vroom!"
On Friday Savannah said she wanted "heart hair." We had been looking at some hair blogs. Well this was what I came up with...those we saw on the blogs didn't really work with her long hair.
These are the Valentine's my kids woke up to this morning. My favorite part of Valentine's Day is decorating heart sugar cookies (thanks Mom for teaching me how to make yummy cookies!).

Little Man is 2!

Our little Connor turned 2 yesterday! He was completely oblivious to what was going on. But he loved his presents and even tried to blow out the candles.

Cheese!Connor wouldn't open anything, but was very interested in watching us do it (Zach volunteered to do it but wanted to keep the presents too).
Train!
I knew he didn't understand what was going on, but I still wanted him to have fun. He LOVES balloons so I bought a bag and blew them all up first thing in the morning.
It made for lots of fun all day long...
New sunglasses from Grandma
I made a star cake but it looked kind of like a flower...oh well, he likes flowers too.
Blowing out the candles...or making the sound at least.
Connor and Mommy opening his favorite present...a Baby Einstein movie (about farm animals).

We love you Connor!

Friday Fun

I haven't taken many pictures this week. I've been trying to take it easier and play with the kids. We went to the park and have had friends over to play.

This is what I spent the morning doing...
It's a castle if you can't tell.
Tonight is the Blue & Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts. Since Jacob will be joining next month he was invited too...and was so excited about it. The theme was castles & knights. They have a cake auction to support the scout program. This was my donation. Next year when Jacob is official he will have to help make most of the cake. That will be fun! Dallin took Jacob & Zach to the banquet this evening...
...while I took Savannah & Connor to a birthday party at Texas Jumping Beans.
YEAH!!!
Savannah has 5 little boys in her music class that all have birthdays within a couple weeks of eachother. So this was to celebrate the birthdays of "2 Matthews, 2 Jacobs, & a Roman"
Savannah was so excited to see her best friend there...they were both wearing pink and easy to spot.
Savannah climbing with Jacob & Matthew (off to the left)...

Now as soon as Dallin gets back with the boys I'm off to Book Club! It's a FUN FRIDAY!

Busy week

It's been a busy week with no pictures. For the sake of our journal, here's what we've been up to. I was in charge of New Beginnings on Tuesday night (an annual event for the young women...lots of work). I've cleaned, done laundry and grocery shopped for 6 people. Wednesday night my friend Kristi dropped her son Bentley off (he's 16 months I think and a sweet little guy). She was induced the next morning and had a little girl. We watched him all day Thursday and most of Friday (he was super easy, slept a ton, and it actually made me stay home and relax a little...it was a good thing). Savannah loved playing with Bentley and Connor actually tolerated him great. I even caught him playing nicely next to him...once or twice.

Dallin has been SUPERDAD (and husband). I was gone Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evening for church stuff. Then Friday evening I took Bentley to the hospital and saw Kristi's baby. Saturday I was gone all morning shopping (for a swimsuit...can't take kids to do that). This morning I had a meeting before church so Dallin had to bring the kids by himself. Thanks for being such an awesome and supportive husband Dallin! I love you!
