Our new favorite park

We went to a new park for playgroup last week. It is awesome! If you live in the area, it is Katherine Fleischer Park in Wells Branch. Connor loved this neat two-story playhouse.Connor is never tall enough for the monkey bars, but these were just his size. There was even a tire to help give him a boost up.
The whole park is shaded, with benches in the middle for the parents to sit on. We'll definitely be going back!

Through the eyes of Savannah & Zach

Savannah & Zach both LOVE taking pictures with our old camera. I love that I can just delete them all when it fills up and let them do it all over again. But this time I decided to save a few, to give you a glimpse of their personalities and the things that interest them. These first few are all taken by Savannah. She loves to take pictures of people, herself and others being goofy.
Zach takes pictures of things that he's interested in. This week it was the Venezuelan money in Dallin's scrapbook.

Frog and Toad and Art

Tuesday night was Gallery Night at the school. They have the kids' artwork hanging and placed all throughout the school. They love to have their art up where everyone can see it. Savannah is the very top picture above her head. I asked her what it was and she said "I don't know. Just shapes and stuff." I guess they were learning about abstract art. Zach did a self portrait. His hair is yarn. I thought he did pretty good for a 2nd grader.Jacob drew a NASA space station I think.
After we found their art it was time for Savannah's kindergarten musical, "Frog and Toad." She made a very cute little frog.
I could tell she was nervous because she had a finger in her mouth most of the time (which is what she does whenever she is nervous). But she sang and did the actions and had fun. Great job Savannah!
She was on the top row, second from the left.

"Spits"

Landon has a new nickname. We call him "Spits." His favorite place to do this is in the car, all over Connor. Poor Connor is strapped in next to him and can't do a thing about it. Since Landon is still rear-facing he just leans his little face over the side and can get Connor pretty much all over. Riding in the car was not pleasant today.

Soccer Boys

JacobZach & Coach Freddy
The boys' last soccer games were on Saturday. They had a back to back games in the middle of the afternoon. It was hot, but they did great. They've both really learned a lot this season and did well during their last games. Jacob is getting more aggressive and kicking harder. He almost scored a couple of goals. Zach is a great defender.
Jacob got to be goalie for part of the game too.
This kid was really good and their most aggressive player. We told Zach to get in front of him and don't let him get the ball. He did such a good job chasing him around and staying in front of him that nobody cared he wasn't back defending by the goal. This kid was so annoyed that he wasn't getting the ball. Great job Zach!
Coach pep talk...

Austin Zoo

On Friday Connor, Landon & I went to the Austin Zoo with some friends. We started out with the train ride. These are the friends that rode over to the zoo with us (it's about 45 minutes away).
Landon was getting antsy so I let him stand for the train ride and he loved it. His hair was nice and slicked with sunscreen.
More of our friends...
It was well past time for Landon's morning nap and he finally slept for a good hour, despite the sun and the bumpy trail.
It only took me about 15 minutes to convince Connor to feed the goats.
Connor's favorite spot of course...the reptile room.
We were eating lunch under a ramada-type thing and could hear a peacock walking all over the roof. Eventually it flew down and came right up to us. Connor had fun walking along next to it for a while.
I'm actually surprised that they have lions and tigers since this is a "rescue" zoo.
You can't see this very well, but there is a monkey sitting in the little car, just chilling out. The boys got a kick out of that.
Here the boys are resting while we waited for the locksmith. I locked my keys in the car for the first time ever in my life. I felt bad for our friends who had to wait in the dusty wind with us for over an hour and a half. They kept me sane though and Connor occupied. I was really happy that evening when I found out that our insurance covers the locksmith. Hurray!
Different day, but we have snake tracks around here...not train tracks.

Spring Pictures

I took some pictures of the kids this weekend to send to the grandmas for Mother's Day. Here are some of those that I won't be using, but still cute.Landon made goofy faces throughout the whole photo shoot, so I figured I'd let the other kids join in.
Just as we were leaving I decided to try a few more shots. Landon was having none of that.
