Family Picture Outtakes

Zach was squinting really bad, Jacob wasn't smiling and Connor wasn't looking in the majority of all our family pictures.  Oh, and Landon was screaming and trying to run away.  Let me tell ya, it was fun times for Erin.  Here Dallin is trying to cheer him up a little.

Looking at flowers was definitely better than screaming.
 See...

Landon's poor little pants were soaked up to his knees from the dew on the flowers.  I really don't blame him for being so cranky.  He also HATES the sun...really smart thinking on my part, huh.
To try and get Connor with his eyes open I would count to 3 and have him open his eyes on "3."  I got this many, many times.  Click on an individual picture once to see it up close.

Family Pictures 2012

On April 6 the kids were off school for Good Friday.  My wonderful friend Erin was nice enough to wake up early and take pictures for us in the bluebonnets before Dallin went to work.  I learned the hard way that taking pictures as the sun is coming up is not very smart.  Oh, and the fields are still soaking wet then too.  If you throw in a toddler who doesn't want to look at you or sit still and a very distracted preschooler, it's pretty much impossible.  After that crazy hour I probably wouldn't care if everyone was crying, we still wouldn't do them over.  But luckily she still managed to get a few decent shots.

I took the kids' individual pictures, except Dallin took this smiling picture of Landon.  I think he was smiling in 3 of the 344 pictures we took all morning.

Easter Egg Hunt 2012

We went to our annual friend Easter Egg Hunt this morning.  Landon was not too excited to leave my side for the picture, but calmed down after a minute since Connor was holding his hand.
I showed Landon how to put the first egg into his basket and he did great after that.
My friend Betsy has an amazing backyard to do this in.  It's nice and shaded with tons of stuff for the kids to do, and it backs up to a creek so it's beautiful.

Connor looked for all the pink eggs.  He'll tell you his favorite color is blue, but he always goes for anything pink first.

Landon was wary for his first time on a trampoline.  He liked walking on it, but was not happy when Connor started jumping.  The yard is sloped, and they have the trampoline built into the side so that the kids can just walk right on.
Landon had a fit when he had to stop picking up eggs (each kid got 12 eggs), but calmed right down when I showed him what was inside them.
 Mmmmmm...chocolate.
He doesn't like it melted all over his hands though.
He wasn't too happy when he had to wait while I took a picture too.
Connor spent most of the morning right here, and loved every minute of it.
It was a fun time with LOTS of friends!  We can't wait for next year!

It's a Small World

Savannah's 1st Grade Musical was on Tuesday evening.  The theme was "It's a Small World."  They were supposed to dress like their country of heritage and they sang songs from around the world.  Savannah wanted to be a cowgirl for Texas, but a jean skirt is all she ended up wearing.  Here she is with her friend Eva, whose family comes from Spain.  She did a great job singing!

Dr. Hazelwood (in blue) is her music teacher and she LOVES going to his music class.

My Brown-Eyed Girl

Savannah and her friend M love to take pictures with our old digital camera and M's kid camera.  These are some of my favorites from their recent photo shoot.  The last picture I took of Landon a few nights ago.  He found his hat in the closet and loves to wear it all the time.  The first night he refused to take it off for bed, and slept with it that night.  He has now added a backpack to his daily ensemble.  I'll try to get a picture of that sometime.
