Connor's sweet ride...

In the sun he melted, melted, melted...

And the next time we looked it was a little lump of snow on the ground. Connor was so sad.

Texas Snowman!

We had an awesome snow day today! It has never snowed like this in Round Rock since we've lived here. We had a bad ice storm 3 years ago, but never snow all day long that actually stayed on the ground. It started right after I dropped the boys off at school. I would have kept them home except I knew that it was supposed to snow all day long. Savannah, Connor & I went to a playdate at a friend's house and this is what we came home to.
They were so excited to make their first-ever snowballs and throw them at Mommy. Our backyard actually got completely white.

When Connor went down for his nap Savannah begged me to take her out and make a snowman. She'd been planning it out all morning long.
Thank heavens I actually had real, full-length carrots in my fridge. They came in quite handy today.
Savannah was ready to go back in after about 10 minutes. She said "Mommy, that snow was too cold. I wanted it to be warm snow." We went in and made snicker doodle cookies for when the boys came home. I love my sweet little girl.
The boys got to go out and play in the snow a couple of times at school. Then they had snowball fights with their friends walking all the way to our neighborhood. When we got home we immediately went outside to build a snowman. They learned how to roll the balls and pack them good.
Even Connor helped to make the head.
Connor loved snowball fights the best thing of all though. He actually liked it when his siblings threw them at him. All day long he kept saying "I LOVE the snow Mommy."
Zach named our snowman "Frosty." Not very original, but they haven't ever had a chance to think about a good name for a snowman. This is the first they have ever built. Then it was time for a snowball war. They all ganged up on me and we had a blast. They even got snow all down my pants (on accident). It was so much fun.
Jacob wanted to sample the oreo that fell off of Frosty's mouth (I didn't let him...I'm mean like that).
And the aftermath. They pretty much had to all strip down because their clothes were soaked. But it was well worth it...a day we'll all remember!

Homework Time

Well we've still been sick all week, hence the lack of posting. Dallin was home sick from work for a couple of days, but we're finally on the tail end of it I think. Except for Jacob. He never really got sick before, but he came home from school yesterday with a mild fever that shot up really quick. So he's home today. Hopefully it doesn't start all over again.
(Carrie, it was still worth it to see you guys.)

Here are some random pictures from the week. When the boys are doing homework Connor has to be like them. He says "I do my homework and take my spelling test."
Same thing goes for when Savannah does preschool time...
Connor spends hours playing with his blocks lately. His favorite thing to do is build towers, with anything. I'm impressed that he can get them about as tall as he is all on his own.
Timber!
I found this on the piano after Jacob was playing in there one day. Scripture heroes fighting alongside Jawas from Star Wars. Bet it was a great battle in Jacob's mind.

Connor's 3rd Birthday!

Connor turned 3 yesterday! He was still pretty sick, so he was not in the best mood. But he was at least excited to open presents. He got a new "light ball" as he calls it, since the one he got for Christmas last year got broken.
He loves to color right now, so he got some new "BIG" triangular-shaped crayons. Three are already broken I believe. The balloons all over the family room have become tradition when the kids wake up on their birthday. He had a great time with them.
After dinner he got to open the rest of his gifts. He got some new bubbles and a couple of toy recorders (flutes) and some new clothes.
One of his favorite things was a Little Einsteins Color Wonder set from Grandma & Grandpa.
He's been very excited for his cake and blowing out his candles. He was so happy while we sang and then blew them out all by himself (I think).
Afterwards he yelled "I did it!"
Connor's cake was very simple because he just didn't care. His favorite color right now is pink, so I made a jello "poke" cake that turned the cake pink inside. He thought it was great, so I was happy. Happy Birthday Connor!

Cranky birthday boy...

Today is Connor's birthday. I'll be doing another post all about it later. But poor Connor is still sick. He is not a happy boy today. In fact, he's about the crankiest I've EVER seen him. He screams or yells "NO" if Savannah or I try to look at or talk to him. He hasn't been hardly eating anything either the last few days. So to make his day a little happier I got him some french fries from Sonic for lunch. He was excited about it in the car, but when we got home he was back to cranky boy.

FHE Heart Attack

For Family Home Evening on Monday night we did a family heart attack. I got this idea from my friend Christa and loved it. We cut out a bunch of hearts and then wrote something that we love about each person in our family. I loved to see what the kids wrote about each other. Here are some of my favorites. This is from Zach...Savannah did this one - "Daddy cuz I love him"
Zach decided that his pet fish Rodimus needed one too. "Rodimus - he eats well"
Jacob thinks Savannah makes great forts to play in...

Sick days

Nothing too exciting has happened the last week. Saturday and Sunday the majority of our house was sick with very bad colds & coughs. Savannah & Connor have it the worst. Jacob and I went to Sacrament Meeting by ourselves and then we came home so we didn't potentially infect all the kids who were at primary. But the boys were both at school today and Dallin went to work, so I got to spend the day with two very bored and cranky kids. Poor Connor just followed me around all weekend saying "I hold you." Connor's birthday is on Wednesday and we might just be spending the day reading books and watching TV.
