Happy Birthday Lucy!

Today is Lucy's 1st birthday. The kids really wanted to have a party, but instead she got a new bone. And she's lucky she got that. Such is the life of a dog.

Friends for life? Hopefully, since Landon will be home with me for 3 years after Connor starts kindergarten. I hope these two will be good buddies pretty soon.

7 months

This little man is 7 months old today! Time flies when you're having fun. He's sitting so well now and does not like to be on his back or belly. He wears 12 or 18 month clothes. His top 2 teeth are also breaking through this week. He's been a little fussy off and on, but for the most part this is one sweet little guy. We love our Landon! He loves to look at his reflection in the oven door and stops by there a few times a day in his walker.
Reading books with Savannah
Landon drools so much that he usually soaks through about 6 or 7 bibs every single day.
This is what he will do if you lay him on his back, just waiting to be sat up. He's got some abs of steel I tell ya'.

Blue & Gold

On Saturday we had the annual Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet. It was also Zach's first pack meeting and he was very excited. For this banquet each boy makes a cake to be auctioned off. The theme this year was "Heroes." Zach chose to make an army cake honoring the U.S. Army heroes. Jacob made an Eragon cake since he is the hero of the book series that Jacob is in to right now. Making graham cracker "dirt"...
Jacob did a great job participating in the flag ceremony.
Zach received his Bobcat, which Dallin helped him with.
Jacob received his Bear Badge, Computer pin & belt loop, 2 beads, a gold arrow, and his Whittling Chip (which means he can carry a pocket knife...although that's not allowed in this house). I got pinned by both of the boys too.
It was a fun time and we're proud of the hard work these boys have done!

Be Mine

For Valentine's Day this year we went to the class parties at school. Connor cannot wait to go to school (in a year and a half), so this was lots of fun for him. First we had ice cream sundaes in Savannah's class. And cookies in Zach's class.
I forgot to take pictures in Jacob's class, but here is his loot after school.
We also got some fun valentines in the mail from family.
I got some tulips and chocolates from Dallin and it was a fun day!

Connor went to a Valentine Party at a friend's house the next week. He had a fun time playing games and making a craft. Thanks friends!

Saturday Fun

Zach & Jacob helped Dallin plant a couple of peach trees in the backyard. And then Lucy tried to dig them up. But she's been properly scolded (Dallin just says "BAD" and she sulks away all ashamed) and is doing a little better with her digging today. The boys also learned the awesome skill of cleaning up dog poop. It is now in their hands.
It was finally warm enough for Connor to ride his bike outside. He loves it and did a great job for his first time. It is hard to ride bikes on our street because we live on a hill.
And this kids just makes me laugh. He will always give you the biggest grin.
I also cleaned out and organized the garage and shed. It's been on my to-do list forever and I'm so happy it's done. I was pretty proud of myself when finished. We do not have a large garage and I made room for 2 cars, a fridge (in the future), all the kids bikes, and a bunch of other stuff.

Connor's 4th Birthday

Happy Birthday Connor!
Connor turned 4 yesterday. He started off early by opening a couple of presents before the older kids left for school. Zach had a present for Connor that he had gotten from his prize box at school. It was a plastic rattlesnake and candy. Connor was thrilled to get a "baby rattlesnake."From the LeSueurs he got a couple more wooden snakes and his very first Webkinz. He has wanted to play on the Webkinz site on the computer, but the older kids wouldn't let him go into their accounts. Now he has his own! It is a husky dog that he named "Kujo."
Connor and his snake family (well, some of them...)
After the kids left for school he helped me make his birthday cake.
It's not really your typical 4-year-old birthday cake...but it's exactly what he wanted.
We went to the Valentine Storytime Party at the library. They sang Happy Birthday to Connor at the end and he also got a bag full of toys, treats, and valentines. He totally thought the party was for his birthday, and I didn't tell him otherwise.
In the afternoon my friend Erin came to bring him a gift. Connor LOVES Erin and always has since he was a little baby. She knows him well and brought him a red rubber snake and Toy Story "magic coloring."

After dinner (pizza) he opened the rest of his gifts. A blue rubber snake! I'm pretty sure we have a dozen snakes now.
This alphabet book has moving pictures that I knew Connor would love. Connor is starting to read now all on his own. He's about at the same level that Savannah was a few months ago when she started kindergarten.
Last up was a "big boy bike with training wheels!!!" (This was a hand-me-down from Erin's son Ethan, but luckily my kids could care less if things are brand new.) He was very excited, although still a little hesitant when riding it. When it warms up some we'll be able to practice outside.
When it came time for cake we had a little problem. Connor saw the lighter and freaked out. I think he associated it with the fireworks that Dallin did on the back porch for the 4th of July. The candles must have looked like fireworks or something because he would not go near it. I finally just let Jacob blow them out. He would not come near the cake until all of the candle were gone and out of sight.
Happy with Daddy and a candle-less cake.
We love you Connor!

Snow Day!!!

This is what we woke up to this morning! It actually started snowing really lightly in the evening and continued for a few hours during the night. School got canceled and the kids are excited. Even last year when it snowed it wasn't cold enough to stay on the sidewalks and streets. But it's also too cold to build a snowman.

Landon thought Dallin looked pretty strange with his head all covered up.When I took Lucy out this morning to do her business she was very hesitant to walk on it. But she really liked eating it. Then she ran all around in it and had a great time.
I only took Landon out for a couple of minutes because his poor little faced is already so chapped from all of his drool. That kid goes through at least 6 or 7 bibs a DAY that get soaked through with his drool. He also drools in his sleep, so it's never-ending chapped cheeks.
The kids were a little disappointed that they couldn't even make snowballs, but they had fun running around in it too.
Connor only lasted about 5 minutes before he was freezing. Zach lasted 10 minutes. After 20 minutes Jacob and Savannah couldn't feel their fingers and decided to come in. Now we're just keeping warm in our cozy house.
