First Day of School 2010

Yesterday was the first day of school! The kids were very excited, especially this cute little kindergartener. She was very particular about what she wore and how her hair was fixed. She said that her favorite part of the day was that her best friend Morgan was on the playground at the same time for recess.Jacob gets to be on the second floor of the school this year...big stuff.
Zach was happy to be on the "big kid" playground with monkey bars.
When I opened the door after taking pictures Connor was standing there with his hand-me-down backpack, waiting to have his picture taken too.
Savannah was thrilled to get to color as her first assignment at school. She seemed a tiny bit nervous, but gave me a hug and did great as I left.
Zach waiting to go in to his classroom...
Connor was a little sad after the kids left and was a little emotional. But after a while he discovered that he liked having all the toys to himself, without anyone bugging him. Playing in his tent with a flashlight was his favorite thing.
And all of the kids headed straight for Landon when they got home. They missed their baby brother!

Fun with the Strongs

It's been so nice having Grandma & Grandpa Strong here this week. I have loved the help and the kids have loved the extra attention.Landon has decided to have his fussy & wide awake time between 2:30 and 5:00am the last couple of nights. Last night Grandma came out and relieved me at 3:30, for which I was very grateful.

Landon's Blessing Day

This cute little guy had his blessing yesterday at church. He was nice and calm while Dallin blessed him. After they came and sat back down I was holding him and he just looked up at us and gave us the biggest smile with a cute little dimple. We sure love this boy.Grandpa & Grandma Strong got here on Saturday! It was so nice to have them here for Landon's blessing and I'm very excited to have their help for the first week of school.
The Corbett & Benoit families came over from the other ward to be there for the blessing.
I could stare at that chubby face all day.
Landon had his 1-month check-up this morning. He was 11 lbs. 3 oz.!!!

Last week of summer...

Savannah lost another tooth a couple of days after the first. You can see the adult teeth already grown in behind the holes. It freaked me out when Jacob's teeth did that, but so far my three oldest kids have all had their adult teeth grow in behind their baby teeth. Apparently it's pretty common. The boys have been doing lots of "fun reading" before they have assigned reading to do again for school...
This little boy is growing like a weed. Or a marshmallow maybe. He's got some nice cheeks, a double chin and a huge belly. Landon is now eating 6 oz. at almost every feeding. His nicknames are Chubsley & Chunky Monkey. I can't believe he'll be one month old tomorrow!
I found Buzz Light Year pajamas on clearance at Walmart. Connor was SO excited and walked around all evening saying "Look at me! I so cool!"Last night Savannah went to Kindergarten Orientation! She has been counting down the days to see her classroom and meet her teacher. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Woodfin. This morning she woke up and said "Do I get to go to school for real today?"The boys just went to their "Meet the Teacher" night. Zach has Mrs. Young for 2nd Grade and Jacob has Mrs. Keller for 4th Grade. Both of their teachers seem super nice. Hopefully it will be a great year!

We'll miss you Grandma!

Grandma LeSueur left today...she will be missed!!! We have appreciated her help SO much and the kids have loved having this special time with Grandma. I just LOVE this cute little face.
Landon likes his baths now, as long as he's all covered.
Connor has started to love Buzz Light Year. He got a Toy Story shirt and underwear about a week ago. We already had this stuffed Buzz in our toys and he has started carrying it everywhere. He also sleeps with it and tucks it in next to him every night.
My kids have had a pretty boring summer. Zach has been wanting to go to the Texas Memorial Museum all summer, but I was just too large and uncomfortable to take 4 kids by myself. We finally went on Tuesday, while I still had my mom to help. We were only there about an hour, but we had the whole place to ourselves and I think the kids had fun.
Connor liked the room with fossils. All day long he talked about the "bones and snakes at the Useum."
Babies sleeping on Daddy are my favorite thing...
Landon is never wanting for attention when he is awake...
Coloring with Grandma...

THANK YOU MOM!!!

Toothless

Savannah lost her first tooth! Her two adult teeth on the bottom have already grown in behind her two baby teeth. Both of the baby teeth have been pretty loose for a while now. She finally let me pull one of them on Tuesday night. She was very excited when the tooth fairy left her a dollar. She's excited to have missing teeth for kindergarten.

Beauty Parlor & Enchiladas

The kids had a fun day yesterday. They kept themselves busy in various ways. First up was playing "Beauty Parlor" on Mommy...
Savannah played with her real-life baby doll...
Connor found himself a new cushion to lay on...
Savannah & Connor got to help Grandma make enchiladas. That was a real treat because I don't have nearly as much patience in the kitchen. They LOVED it!

In the evening my Uncle Craig & Aunt Nadra came to visit for a little while. They were down from Dallas for a wedding reception in Round Rock. It was nice to see them and have them meet Landon.

Connor and I have both been sick for a few days with a cold & sore throat. Last night I also got a migraine on top of that. My mom was so sweet. She stole the baby monitor (without us knowing) and got up with Landon for the entire night. I woke up at 6:30am and my head felt so much better...after 10 hours of sleep!!! What a luxury for a new mom. Thank you SO SO SO muich Mom! We have been so blessed to have her help the last couple of weeks. I would be one stressed-out girl I think.

And here is our first-ever picture as a family of 7.

2 1/2 Weeks Already!

I can't believe this little guy is 2 1/2 weeks old! At his 2-week appointment Landon was
8 lbs. 8 oz. and 21 inches long. His little face and tummy are starting to chunk out a bit.

Every time I go to check on Landon his hands are in a different place. And half the time it looks like he's posing for me.
Sidewalk chalk, sprinklers, and popsicles. Enjoying the super hot and humid weather.
Connor finally asked to hold Landon a couple of days ago. He was very sweet with him, until Landon started yanking on his shirt.
Landon is my only baby that has not liked to be swaddled. All of my other kids loved it, but this little guy HATES to have his arms confined in any way. He always fights them out of his blankets. I should have known, after the way he was always trying to push his way out of my belly with his little arms and legs.

Last night Grandma watched all the kids so that Dallin and I could go on a date to the movies. It was nice to get out for a little while, just the two of us. Thanks so much Mom!!!
